Denmark’s Davis Cup team in an exciting double at Energi Danmark Champions Battle 2023 in Royal Arena

The Danish Davis Cup team?is ready?for an exciting pre-match on 24th?of May in Royal Arena when the Danish tennis comet Holger Rune and Australian Nick Kyrgios?meet?each other at Energi Danmark Champions Battle 2023 #EDCB23

Prior to the main match between the two world stars, the many attending tennis fans can experience four of Denmark’s best tennis players; Christian Sigsgaard, Johannes Ingildsen,?August Holmgren and Davis Cup captain and former Wimbledon winner Frederik Lochte Nielsen.

The Danish Davis Cup team?has?had an amazing start to 2023, when they in?the beginning of?February secured?a place at the World Cup I. #WorldCupI is the?second?highest level in the #DavisCup.?Denmark?will meet Brazil on home soil?later in the year.

It’s four experienced players?who?will be playing?at Energi Danmark Champions Battle; August Holmgren is 24 years old and plays for Gentofte Tennis Club. He has played five Davis Cup matches and is undefeated. Christian Sigsgaard is 25 years old,?and he is?likewise?playing for Gentofte Tennis Club. He is the player on the team?with?the most?Davis Cup?experience as he has represented Denmark seven times. Johannes Ingildsen is 25 years old and is playing for KB.?In February he had the pleasure of playing double with Holger Rune, a match the two?of them?won?in?style.

The?fourth?player, Frederik Lochte Nielsen is?one whom?most Danes are?familiar?with as he is the Danish tennis player?who has?won most double matches ever.?In 2012 he won the #Wimbledon?Grand Slam?in men’s double. In January 2022, Lochte announced?his retirement?from professional tennis.?In April?the?same year he was celebrated for his fantastic career, when he played a show match in #RoyalArena. He played a double match against the showman Mansour Bahrami, it was a pre-match to #CarolineWozniacki’s farewell match #AngeliqueKerber, The Final One. Lochte had an amazing experience with the thousands of spectators, and he can’t wait to play in Royal Arena once again. He says:

“I had an incredible experience last time I played a double match in Royal Arena. It was fantastic to experience the atmosphere and support from the many tennis fans and that’s?the reason?why I’m very excited to?be playing?there again.?The fact?that it’s the pre-match?to?Holger?vs?Kyrgios, their first?ever?match against each other, is just amazing.”
