A flat 15% tax is levied on:

  • Monthly phone bills exceeding Rs. 1,000 for landline connections (excluding mobile phones).
  • The sale price of internet pre-paid cards or prepaid phone cards.
  • The purchase of units for internet or phone services through any electronic medium.
