Data Beaches impact each of us. It’s not about just loss of asset, but loss of individuality, credibility, privacy, basically almost everything we value as individuals. As the world gets more connected and digital, this threat just grows exponentially. We have seen lot of damage in 2018 alone, Take a look here for information.
Every piece of information we generate or consume lives either on private or public cloud on some storage. We need to remember that sooner than later most of it will be exposed via APIs ( otherwise what’s the use of storing it anyway) to myriads of application, to unleash its potential. Our considerations about security today, will define the power of data we can safely unleash in immediate or near future.
We have to remember that it is not just large businesses that are at stake. In fact, SMB is target for more than 40% cyber attacks. Whats worse is that though large enterprises suffer monetary and credibility loss after a breach, the SMB actually go out of business for the same kind of exposure.
There is really no single solution to securing the data, it has to be layered, with multiple systems contributing and collaborating with policies, processes, controls and techniques. AND it has to keep evolving with the pace of innovation.
Storage is one key stakeholder in data security paradigm ( after all everything worth actually rests there).
Hence it is imperative that we understand the nuisances of storage security. What are the threat agents? How different compliance authorities look at these challenges and governance around them? What are the available technologies, techniques and best practices that can minimize the risk?
In this webcast, our guest speaker Sandeep Patil will help us understand some of these aspects better. You , as an individual OR a business, can use these principles as guidelines to decide if you are choosing correct technology, correct platform for storing your sensitive important data and be future ready.
