Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs), that will help you gain clarity regarding your application to ISB in Round 2 admissions (R2).

1. Does applying to R2 will impact my selection?

Applying in any round does not impact your chances of securing an admission offer.?

2. Are the selection criteria of R2 admissions different?

The eligibility criteria are common to all three rounds as there is no relaxation on GMAT/ GRE score.

3. How many seats are taken from YLP & EEO routes?

There is no fixed percentage of seats from YLP & EEO routes. It depends on the type of candidates applying through these routes.

Application Process

1. Which deadline is better to apply - Round 1 or Round 2 or Round 3?

We encourage everyone to apply early as it helps candidates to plan work & relocation arrangements. However, applying in either cycle doesn't have any material impact on your chances of selection.

2. What percentage of seats are offered in each of the deadlines?

About 50% of the seats are made available in each cycle. However, the number of offers we make is at the discretion of the school.

3. How many applicants are called for interview in each cycle and how many are selected?

There is no fixed percentage of students being called by ISB either for interviews or admission.

Scholarship

1.???What are the scholarships available in Round 2?

Apart from the need-based and merit-based scholarships, there are corporate scholarships and alumni endowments given out once you join ISB.

2. What are the min and max merit- scholarships available in Round 2?

Min of 25% and a maximum of up to 75% on tuition fee waivers will be offered in Round 2.

3. What kinds of profiles usually get selected for scholarships?

The selection criteria usually depend on the organization granting the scholarship. The qualifying process is highly competitive, and the selection criteria vary from year to year.

4.???What is the eligibility for the need-based scholarships?

The family income should be less than Rs 18 lacs pa. Family income includes the income/ pension of you, your father, your mother & spouse(if any). Income proofs for the same need to be submitted.

5. Do we get need-based scholarships in Round 2?

Yes, we do give out up to 50% of the need-based scholarships in Round 2.

6. What is the eligibility for merit-based scholarships?

Everyone who applies to ISB is by default considered for the merit-based scholarship. The overall application is evaluated for the same – the GMAT/GRE, Academics, Quality of Work exp., Interview performance, etc.

7. How to apply need to need-based scholarships?

On the scholarship section of the application portal, you are required to check the suitable scholarships that will enable an applicant to give a separate essay for the respective need-based scholarship.

8. What are all the documents ISB accepts as proof of income?

· Working Professionals: Last month's salary slip.?

· If you wish to submit the variable/bonus component of CTC, merge the salary slip with an offer letter.

· Entrepreneurs: Last 3 months’ bank statement, latest ITR filed.

· Retired Parents: No proof of Income is required. Upload the retirement letter or self-declaration.

9. How to apply for scholarships that are not listed on the application portal?

Everyone who applies to ISB is by default considered for the other scholarships that are not listed on the website. The overall application is evaluated for the same- the GMAT/GRE, Academics, Quality of work exp. and Interview performance, etc.

10. Does Merit-based scholarship based on Academic scores?

No, there are parameters based on which scholarships are awarded which include your Academics, Work exp, your Test score, LOR & Essays.

GMAT/ GRE

1. When is the last date to submit the GMAT/GRE score for Round-2?

Dec 4, 2022, is the last date to submit your test score for Round 2.

2. Do you accept unofficial scores?

Yes. You can upload the unofficial scores.

3. What if the applicant does not have an official score / unofficial score at the time of application?

Upload the email confirmation of the exam appointment.

4. What is the validity of the GRE/GMAT score??

5 Years.

5. Is GMAT preferred more than the GRE?

No, ISB does not discriminate between GRE/GMAT nor do we convert the score.

6. What is the best score to get into ISB?

There is no prescribed score by ISB as such, but the score range of the current cohort is:

GRE- 306 to 338 with an avg of 328.

GMAT – 610 to 780 with an avg of 306.

7. How one can make up for a low GMAT/GRE score?

We appreciate applicants realize their weaknesses and plan to overcome their failures and provide support with clear examples.

Clarity of goals and thought/purpose, involvement in activities besides work, etc.

?Recommendation

1. When an applicant can submit the recommender details?

It is best you give your recommender ample time to do justice to your evaluation, so do this as soon as possible.

2. How to get a LOR / Recommendation?

You will have to enter their name, phone number, and official email address, and an evaluation link will be sent to them.

3. How many recommendations ISB needs?

We only need one LOR.

4. Is there any template that ISB prescribes?

No template is required. No PDF is to be emailed. No paper is to be sent. It’s an online process, the email will be sent to your recommender.?

5. Is the change of recommender possible?

?Email the details to?[email protected], the tech team will do the needful from the backend.

6. Who should be your evaluator/ Recommender?

Ideally, your evaluator should be someone who has had a chance to observe your work closely in the recent past. Your evaluator should be familiar with your abilities, areas of improvement, etc.

7. Whom should we choose as a recommender?

Anyone with whom you would have worked closely. ISB wants to know you and not your recommender so chose them wisely. The designation or pay cheque of your recommender does not matter, what he or she writes about you matters much.

Reapplicant

1. Is being a re-applicant a deterrent?

No, ISB doesn’t differentiate between fresh applicants and re-applicants. If you are a re-applicant, do highlight your achievements from the last time you applied. The?Application fee waiver of 50%?applies to all reapplicants.

2. Does the Reapplicants needs to write the test again?

Do not have to send the score again to ISB unless it is a retest.

3. How many Essays do a re-applicant needs to write and does that impact the candidature?

A re-applicant needs to write 3 essays and it does not affect your candidature
