Demystifying my "viral" LinkedIn posts

Here is after experimenting A LOT over the last few years.
As creators on LinkedIn, we keep experimenting to get our post more reactions, more views, more engagement, and ultimately more followers/connections.
I'm not an expert, but I have experimented, and I talk only with my experience. So you won't find any fluff here. :)
If you have optimized your profile, here are a few things to help you better your posts. Let's start:
1.Hook: I know you've heard a LOT about this. But it's not complicated. Any headline (or the first 2-3 lines of your LinkedIn post) that grabs your attention is a hook.
It was a poll (Polls are comparatively new on LinkedIn, so they still have a good reach).
I think it worked because people were curious to know why it wouldn't work and were happy to express their opinions on this topic. Here's the post for your reference. It got 67 reactions, 139 comments, and 37,615 views.
2. Storytelling: When you relate a real-life experience, people are more likely to read rather than a general tip-based post.
Here's a myth: More reactions mean more reach/followers.
I have posts with 80+ reactions and comments with a reach within 5K-10K. And there are posts with 30-40 comments that have 30K-40K reach.
This post had 198 reactions and 61 comments but 17,033 views—the more real the story, the better.
3. Achievement-oriented post: This one's no secret. But the problem is that people are doing it too much, too often.
No one's interested in knowing you got a new position. People are interested in learning the story behind it (how you got it, how you prepared for the role), your expectations/learnings from the job/internship/course, etc.

Here's my post from when I got the internship at Vedanta - 40K+ views, 991 reactions, 154 comments.
4. Write Relatable posts: This is a tough one because you never know which post is more relatable than others.
Here are two of my polls - one was about content writing with Creativity vs. Structure, and the other was about what challenges Content Marketers are facing, and you can see the metrics with them.
It also might have to do something with fewer options because people don't have to think much.
Even the freelancers' post in the second point was on similar lines.
Not only was it relatable, but it also generated curiosity among people; they continued to read the entire post and thus, engaged with it.
When you can make someone read your entire post, they are more likely to engage with it. (Please read this article till the end)
Those were my four observations and tips about how to make better LinkedIn posts. There's no 100% guarantee that these tips will work for every post because it depends on whom you are targetting.
I have many posts that follow the same structure with less engagement, but these are some most frequently advised tips and how I have applied them. :)
I hope you liked this article and it helped you.
