After a brief hiatus last week, we’re back with yet another trending topics blog post. So what’s been on our minds this week? “Brat summer” is slowly coming to a close, the Paralympic games are kicking off in Paris, Starbucks has brought back its famed pumpkin spice latte earlier than ever and multiple influencer and brand collaborations!
- ??After brat summer took over social media this summer, having been inspired by Charli XCX’s hit album “Brat”, a new trend is taking over the airwaves: demure fall. While brat was about being loud and messy, demure is about being classy, considerate and authentic. In other words, expect people to be on the search for authenticity this fall, and be sure to add demure to your word bank for the near future.
- ??Adam Sandler has become quite the fashion icon for Gen Z recently. Sandler has long been known for wearing colorful t-shirts with baggy athletic shorts and sneakers, but Gen Zers are now starting to view him as a fashion icon. He’s even inspired a new “Madame Sandler” fashion trend on TikTok, where users sport a crop top and long athletic shorts and show off their looks.
- ??The Paralympic Games have officially kicked off in Paris, following the conclusion of the Olympic Games just a few weeks ago. The opening ceremony took place this past Wednesday, August 28, and more than 4,000 athletes from 184 delegations will compete at the Games. Coverage of the Games will air on NBC, Peacock, USA Network and CNBC.
- ??With fall just around the corner, Starbucks has brought back their famed pumpkin spice latte earlier than ever, along with its other fall-themed drinks. The company is also debuting a brand new Iced Apple Crisp Non Dairy Cream Chai drink, while supplies last. However, Starbucks isn’t the only coffee company competing for fall fame, with Dunkin’ also returning their pumpkin spice latte for autumn 2024, along with other seasonal items.

- Jeremy Allen White x Calvin Klein - For one of their most recent ad campaigns, clothing brand Calvin Klein enlisted star actor Jeremy Allen White to model for their fall 2024 catalog. The new campaign, directed and shot by fashion photographer Mert Alas, features White in a minimalist style, showcasing only Calvin Klein’s underwear, denim, and sunglasses.
- Krispy Kreme x Dr. Pepper - Doughnut manufacturer Krispy Kreme recently announced that it was teaming up with Dr. Pepper in an unlikely collaboration for football season.
