Demotivation ? How to Over come?

Hi Folks- How are you all doing?

I have been missing for quite some time and was wanting to write an article. However, I have been dealing with multiple phases in my life and trying to overcome. The biggest thing for me to overcome was "DEMOTIVATION". Which is why I wanted to share my set of experiences how I dealt with it and what actually causes demotivation.

Well, as you all know there is already motivation in the word demotivation. But, how many of us fail to notice that and tend to rectify not all of us . We still curse, blame ourselves, situations, people and surroundings for being demotivated. But, how many of us actually sit back and analyze what caused the demotivation is our life what can be done to overcome it.

Many motivational speakers, leaders set examples of how they overcame their hurdles to reach heights well listening to all that maybe soothing to us but unless and until we put an effort to change our lives we cannot move one single step and trust me that's the truth.

The only person who can motivate you and make you stronger is 'YOURSELF'.

I am into Human resources by profession a place where we have lots of targets and lot of challenges to deal with daily basis. But, for many people HR’s job is as easy as slicing a piece of cake. I often get to hear from my colleagues, friends stating oh -HR that's an easy job all you have to do is call someone and ask them to come for an interview. Initially I was offended but later I realized grass in not always green on the other side. Now when someone says all this. I just say HAHA yes that's as easy as that and walk away with a smile :-)

I am a happy go lucky person who knew what to do, what are my goals and dreams. I always had support from good people around. But, One day everything changed. As my experience grew my chances of getting good jobs, roles tuned less. Competition increased, challenges increased, my work life balance hit the rough patch. I have reached a stage where I just wanted to quit myself from everyone everything. I ended up becoming demotivated depressed and frustrated...

Now, Lets Analyse what causes Demotivation?

Most of us have just one View for demotivation, which means that you’re likely to assume that you’re struggling with the same problem whenever you’re demotivated, when in fact demotivation is a category of problems that has many different views within. When you have just one distinction for demotivation, you’ll apply the same old strategies. These strategies are ineffective with most types of de-motivation, and in some instances they can even make you more demotivated.

  •  Fear
  • Setting wrong goals and expectations
  • Competition around you
  • Lack of Challenges
  • Loneliness
  • In security
  • Lack of confidence

How did I overcome all of these factors?

 

Fear:- Just deal with your fear. Start by naming your fears and start addressing them.

Setting wrong goals and expectations: - Take some time to review your goals. Notice how your mind responds as you think of each of the goals you’re trying to work on. If you are not happy, scrap your current goals and question all your stories about what you really Notice what makes you smile spontaneously or lose track of time and set goals around that stuff instead.

Competition around you:- Certainly the most demotivating factor. But on the positive front that makes you stronger and competent provided you realize where you are going wrong and why is the competition stopping you and demotivating you. If this is troubling you maybe you have to step up the game for yourself and start upgrading.

 

Lack of challenges:- For someone like me who is hyperactive cannot work on something constant foe a long time. That makes it standalone and demotivating to continue. We always need new challenges , go ask for more work , learn something new , do something adventurous try new things which will uplift your energy and boosts you. Change is always constant. Keep switching between things and learn to explore.

 

Loneliness:- For someone like me who stays alone away from Family and has limited friends who are busy in their own life and spaces. Feeling Lonely is not so common. But if that’s going to be a demotivating factor then it’s time to step of dark and shower some light on ourselves. Take a break and go and spend some time with someone you enjoy. You may be surprised at the motivating impact this has and find yourself much more clear and productive when you return to your work. And then start to build your network join groups of common interest. This change in you will surprise yourself and people who know you. Well I was surprised at myself (LOL).

 

Lack of Confidence:- when you feel demotivated because of this factor we really to change our way of strategizing and overcome this. Confidence in today’s world in everything. The one thing that made me more confident was when I started to realize what I really want when I started to work towards it, could see the visible results. This got back the lost confidence in me. You can also take help of TED talks which really did benefit me.

 

Stay away from Negative minded folks, build positivity around you and within you. Groom yourself in a way where nothing can defeat you. Always remember nothing in the world can defeat you except yourself my friend.
