Today is 10 years since my cousin Mark died. With muscular dystrophy, he was told he wouldn't make it to 15 and yet he made it to 50. I always knew my handicaps were nothing compared to his.
While I went to the Collins College of Business, he asked if he could come stay with me in my Dad's old room in the converted garage. It would be tight quarters, but I would be in class or working because I was going places. When I look back now I realize he wanted to be near that drive, but it was me who didn't have his grit of morning and nightly rituals.
This afternoon I'll draw a picture, present a cost comparison, and then show the recommended action plan. The client is in love with some new technology that doesn't fit with reality or business needs. You can't make people make the right decisions based on their feelings, you can just show them the results you've gotten hundreds of times.
