Demonstrate Deploy Decarbonize 2023

America is embarking on an impressive journey of discovery. For too many years we have bet against ourselves. No longer. Our accomplishments in wind, solar, batteries, EVs convince us to achieve more. This week, over 600 public and private sector leaders descended into Washington, DC, answering the call to demonstrate, deploy, and decarbonize.??

Co-hosted by Cleantech Leaders Climate Forum, the Loan Programs Office | U.S. Department of Energy Programs Office (LPO), and our DOE partners, Deploy23 brought together decision makers, capital allocators, community leaders, and others across the clean energy supply chain in one place to talk about barriers and opportunities to deploying these technologies at scale.?

Jennifer Granholm opened?the summit with a message full of vision, ambition, and optimism. Additional speakers included John Podesta, Senior Advisor to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and?Implementation; Mitch Landrieu, Coordinator for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act; senior?Department of Energy (DOE) officials; and CEOs and thought leaders in critical clean energy sectors.?

Attendees heard keynotes and fireside chats with?senior Administration officials, C-suite executives of clean energy and infrastructure companies, thought leaders on key technologies poised for commercial liftoff, and community leaders managing real build-out. Deploy23 featured DOE subject matter experts’ pitches to the audience on three key Pathways to Commercial Liftoff reports.?

Deploy Dialogues created opportunities for brainstorming and workshopping in the areas of virtual power plants, industrial decarbonization, grid modernization, carbon dioxide removal, and buy-side incentives.?Collaboration was in full force at Deploy23, as well as a shared feeling of optimism. Real-time feedback at the event was that the DOE is actually serious about working with the private sector, and that our posture as an agency is more collaborative than ever before – and now we need to get on with it!?
