Demons From the Past Year

This is not your regular article. It is more on the excerpts from the wandering mind of an introvert on goal setting for the new year.
Browsing through my device, I stumbled upon websites about zodiac signs and such. Unsure if it's genuine or just a ploy by some folks to scam others off their hard earned money, I found myself on the brink of buying into it. Fueled by the challenges of being a depressed resident of Lagos, I was almost becoming "CAPRICORNIAN" (if that's even a thing) in my quest to discover what the future had in store for me.
As i continued to scroll through my Instagram feed, I came across various reels where creators shared flashbacks of the great moments they had in 2023. One may begin to wonder if there were any low points at any time in their lives, making it seem like life itself is rosy and you are most likely the only one on earth going through rough patches. Anyway, those were precisely my thoughts—have you ever felt the same way?
As 2023 comes to an end, some things truly haunt me. Maybe I would share or maybe I wouldn't. It is after all, a part of the intricacies of life and these experiences get to shape us.
At the start of every new year, a task that burdens 70% of the global population is the creation of resolutions, setting goals, vision boarding, or establishing personal KPIs. It's seen as a strategy to secure your future without relying on fortune-tellers who claim celestial alignments can shape your destiny, or to fend off social media pressures that might induce depression before the chaos of Lagos traffic sets in-(if you live in Lagos, Nigeria, you will understand this better).
It is a new year, and a fresh start has presented itself for a better future.
How do you plan to seize this opportunity? Will you allow past demons to catch up, potentially hindering progress? Dwelling in the past delays progress, setting you back a decade....What then is your strategic game plan for the new year?
For me, a night out on the beach thinking about my life choices might be liberating, otherwise... I would most likely pen down as I have always done.
"What say you Vee?"
Let's Talk About Killing that Demon
I am no saint, neither am I a saviour! However, I think of what is best and feeding those demons, wouldn't set you up for success.
Here is my proposal. You can either take it or leave it. Truth be told, I am talking to myself as well.
Do you have a vision board for your goals in the new year? Before you respond, there are a few things you should consider first:
