Demons or Choices?

No ‘deliverance prayers’ will fix your sex life or morality at large. Prayers don’t fix character flaws. Character is not something given to us. Character is a composite of our habits. We choose our habits. Jesus never cast out any demon from the woman caught in the act of adultery. Since adultery is a choice, NOT a demon, He simply told her, “Go and sin no more – John 8:11.”
By the grace of God, I led a lady in 2019 who had spent her entire adult life as a prostitute to Christ. Like many others, she was following me on Facebook and asked me for spiritual direction. We prayed together and then I discipled her on specific actions that she needed to take. I helped her start her own business. She’s now actively serving in a church and paying school fees for her two children.
No child of God can be demon possessed. No demon possessed person lives a normal life. When you give your life to Jesus, you’re freed from the bondage of sins – you are free indeed (John 8:36). But you have to work out your character. Paul said, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling – Philippians 2:12.” He didn’t mean you can earn salvation but you earn your character.
If Jesus and the first apostles did not preach it, STOP PREACHING IT! Stop hiding under ‘revelations’ from the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God reminds us what Jesus taught (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit is not the spirit of confusion. He does not contradict scriptures. He glorifies Jesus (John 16:13-14). This doctrine of soul-ties and spiritual spouses is man-made and will never set you free.
Paul warned in Galatians 1:8, “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!”
Lives are not transformed by how much a preacher shouts. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunders. Content and substance will transform your life NOT emotions and spiritual theatrics. God invites us to reason with Him (Isaiah 1:18) but spiritual extortionists and blackmailers want you to pack your brains at home as you go to church. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free – John 8:32.
