The Demolishing of ICE: The Jamaican Approach
ICE is Coming
There is great apprehension, yet there is also rejoicing in the land. This duality grips the people when they hear the words: "ICE is coming."
Such words transport me 55 years back to Jamaica, where my youthful friends and I would jump with glee at the news: "ICE was coming!" Back then, our excitement stemmed from the spectacle of a single Jamaican man or woman demolishing 25, 50, or even 100 ICE in mere moments—to our sheer delight and approval.
I suppose growing up changes people.
Now, in my current Jamaican residence, the mere mention that even two ICE are coming sends adults fleeing and children into despair.
The irony is striking.
Many of those now running in terror from ICE once came to Jamaica seeking betterment. Meanwhile, many in Jamaica—desperate for their own betterment—would gladly welcome all the ICE America can send. They would, in fact, demonstrate exactly how to deal with ICE—flipping the script to facilitate economic empowerment.
After all, there’s a stark contrast between their approach and ICE’s methods, where money is offered to citizens as an incentive to sell out so-called illegal aliens—even their own mothers. On the rejoicing, placing ICE on murderous criminals is a joy to all gainfully employed taxpaying Americans.
Do you remember the delight of shear ICE? I loved the grape flavor.
Do you know that there is Jamaica, WI and Jamaica, Queens, USA?
