Democrats Lost the Election at their Convention

Democrats Lost the Election at their Convention

I am a Democrat, I held my nose and voted for Kamala

I predicted Democrats would lose the election, but I never thought it would be this bad, losing the Senate as well. The writing was on the wall at the convention, even though there was a lot of excitement in the air following the convention, and everyone felt Trump was finished and Kamala Harris would win the election. I knew that was never going to happen. Allowing a Jewish speaker at the convention but denying the other side, the Palestinians, to tell their side of the story was so undemocratic, so wrong on the level of fairness, that you knew they fell on the sword for Israel.

Boogie man Joe Biden

When Joe Biden stepped down for Kamala, the excitement was contagious, and the nation was bustling with excitement at the opportunity to prevent Trump from getting back into office. What we all failed to realize was that Joe never left. He stood over Kamala like a bad omen, and she stood there like a little girl, happy to please her daddy. For a nation searching for a new direction, telling your supporters you can't imagine anything you would change from the policies of the leader they just rejected was a death knell in her ambition for office. Then, the slide began.

Kamala Harris was no Margaret Thatcher.

It was clear America needed a new direction under the guidance of a strong leader. Kamala brought all the qualities required for the job, but she was no Margaret Thatcher, as she did not exude the confidence of a leader who would bring the change people needed. She sounded more like a mother than a leader until the last week of the election. Unfortunately, the loss was baked in. America needs a strong leader who will tell us how we intend to lead the world. Trump did, but Kamala waffled. How do you follow a leader who is not sure what she will do? Kamala was running opposite Ads, in two different cities as if her voters were stupid.

Americans watched as Biden destroyed the United Nations, and global cohesion and disillusion began to set in. The election loss baked in, even harder, as we saw the world in turmoil and watched genocide unfold in front of us daily. We were witnessing live for the first time, and in the history of mankind, we watched genocide happening live and on video. We all watched as the Israeli lobby scared her into silence. Who wants to vote for a scared leader?

Lesson: I am the lesser of two evils is not a campaign strategy

Then Came the Abuse

It began with President Obama, followed by Clinton and many others berating democratic voters and chastising us for considering either not voting or voting for Trump. How dare they and their arrogance. After years of voting in obedience, democrats sent a message, you either represent our view or go to hell and go to hell was the message from this election. Black men especially were angry at Obama; what arrogance? to lecture us about how we feel and what we feel every day from his high horse. He did not come to talk to us nor appeal to us, he came to lecture us. It was an awful mistake. Black men went out in droves and voted for Trump. At that point, the conversation that ensued in the black community sealed the fate of Kamala Harris with black men.

It is Time to Pay the Piper

Trump promised to take the hatchet to the US Constitution, and he will try, but I have faith in the resiliency of the American people and the Constitution. We will survive Trump. Those who enabled his ascendancy to the presidency realized their follies and prepared for the wrath of King Kong. For Democrats, I say hold on, we will survive Trump, and America will be better for it. We will witness the wrath of an angry, irrational man, but we, the people, will survive him. The question is? Will the Democratic and Republican leadership who allowed him to become this person survive Trump?

The election outcome was clear as glass for those who can see it. With Trump's emergence as the Republican candidate, the dark cloud hovering over the Democrats could not be easily dispersed. I hope Trump makes America Great Again.

I think that Joe Biden was bullied into surrendering that ticket, it didn't go down well with some party members, hence their turnout for the poll. Donald Trump is no doubt a strong candidate for his party and the Democrats would have done better from the early days of their primaries to have had a clear cut candidate against Trump.

This opinion is fueled by the confidence of a person who lives where institutions are stronger than people; and I envy that because I do not have such luxury.

Trump was already President and the world didn't collapse. So don't worry ?? When he was President, there were no wars.He brokered peace deals in the middle east..Economy was thriving.World leaders feared him. Trump 2024???? Harris is a joke like you wrote. America is better off like this.
