Democracy or Plutocracy? America’s Existential Question

Democracy or Plutocracy? America’s Existential Question

The book that led me to this series and these titles below with free Open Access was:

The Asian 21st Century

* Authors: Kishore Mahbubani

* Open Access. ?2022

The titles in the first section of the book published in 2022 The Asian 21st Century starts with: “The End of the Era of Western Domination” Whether it is true or not will be answered in the next few months and over the following 4 years. In the absract of Democracy or Plutocracy, he states:

"Is the United States?of America still a functioning democracy or has it become, for all practical purposes,?a plutocracy? And why is this question important? It’s important because the answer to the question of whether America has a dark or shining future will depend on whether it’s a democracy?or plutocracy. Indeed, this question may well be the most existential question America has to address."

Read my post from 2017 in the comments below: The king is dead. Long live the king. You get a sense of what it means to assume the mantle of POTUS and leave behind the man that was. He becomes "of the people, by the people, for the people." Or does he?

With the selections by President-elect and his advisors being made for governmental leadership over the next 4 years will answer the question whether we are a democracy or plutocracy. Essay #3 and Essay #4 give a perspective that it is and was not about Democrats against Republicans. It is about wealth, money and power.

This is such a thought-provoking reflection—thank you for sharing it. The distinction between discussion and dialogue is profound. True dialogue, rooted in listening and silence, has the potential to bridge divides and create understanding. Your point about how internal conflict can weaken us as a collective is especially relevant today. It’s a call for awareness and intentional action. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on Metahuman—Deepak Chopra’s ideas often challenge conventional thinking in powerful ways!
