Democracies of Free People Power: Either Adapt or Perish.

Darwin when he wrote his theory of evolution. That all all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce. Basically, adaptation of species led to survival enhancement of means. Now I am a believer of Adam and Eve as the origin story. We Muslims call them Hawa and Adam. Faith is simply believing what you can’t see but know it is the truth. Yet this aspect of Darwin’s explanation remains true to date.

Democracy of Free People Power is itself a species. A form of governance upon which mankind chooses to live under. There are many forms of governance in the world today. Having evolved over time with borrowed ancient ideas built upon each other to advance in the course of history.

Democracy as an order is in the business just like the orders prevailing today of theocracy, dictatorship, and communism in survival of the fittest mode. Today democracy is in retreat globally facing huge obstacles after a good run for the last 3 decades. When the order of Bolshevism in USSR fell apart, the tearing down of the iron curtain in 1989 onwards. To adoption of multiparty politics and liberalization of nations across the world. Democracy was the “it” thing. Sought after in Tiananmen square to Maidan square. Yet today almost most people universally globally just believe they need order to the chaos of democracy. A firm hand to steer the peoples and even firmer means of it deployed. Hence the global appeal of totalitarianism today. In one form or another. Currently 70% of humanity live under it compared to 30% under democracy of free people power.

This is a result of failure to deliver by democratic means. Of course, as an order we are chaotic, constantly jostling elites and powerful for power, special interest group-controlled establishment and the right of asking the Free People to consent as to whom gets to lead. We the common man and woman have a limited say, a vote, ability to speak our case, ability to organize our cause, ability to assemble like minds to that cause and lastly ability to finance politically that cause. And if we don’t like it the current means of order deployed, we find ourselves governed under. We the Free People reserve the ability to dissent to dissidence of it. That process is circumvented in totalitarian means. The jostling and competition for power for in group and out group of elites and powerful remains the same as democracy. Just your voice, opinion, assembly, or vote don’t even think of dissent or dissidence it is not needed. Dealt with mortal ways of coercion prison, destruction, or death by state means. No limited say for the common man and woman of the world.

Why is it then the world is tilting towards the later order and democracy is out of fashion now?

Answer is the inability of our current modern democracies to adapt. Inability to deliver for the masses order for dysfunction reigns. The elites and powerful might as well be from Mars in understanding their masses now or each other. They listen but never act but only in their narrow-minded interests. Zero sum game, if any gain it is just them. That interest has led to mass anxiety to all that live under democracies. Delivery of common basics gone. No longer can democracies guarantee a good life from cradle to grave to it citizens. Cost of living for the common man and woman is atrocious. The middle class is becoming poor and the poor becoming broke. The mobility of merit means replaced by patronage of ideological nature complete with cronyism and nepotism now. We are exhausting ourselves fighting culture wars not bread and butter means of understanding of the common man and woman. Law and order means neglected. The rich God bless them today the 1% own more wealth than the entire 70% of the nations of the democratic world like in awesome America. The truth is the democracy order is a rigid one now that stopped adapting to meet its constituents of free people’s needs. As a capitalist I would say the system is failing for it has lost its soul, means and reasoning. Not that we hate the rich, who God bless no man can curse. Wealth is given to those who are highly favored and smiled upon by destiny. Why then do people want a form of totalitarianism now to rebalance things their way. Stop the slide from poor to broke. The chaos of jostling. The uncontrolled vitriol of politics 24/7 in their society with less than 1% delivery for the common man and woman and 99% wasted exhausting efforts at getting that 1% delivery.

Totalitarianism appeal is rudimentary. Don’t think we will do the thinking for you. Accept our verdict by fiat, fear, favors and centralized micromanagement and control means of it. Folks just want mobility, bread, healthcare, and security. They deliver that like China did in the last 30 years of it. While democracies flounders, China under communism thrived and built. We reduced ourselves as democracies to permanent feeling of superiority complex of look how wonderful we are, we the free and allowed permanent pervasive dysfunction to be our symbol of order. Losing our place in the world rankings while sermonizing and sanctioning the world at our whims. Losing the world in the process.

Today coming from Africa, a child of the tribes. My country America is more tribal than Africa I left. We are more polarized and disagree on practically everything. I am a partisan just like all of us now. I like you have a side of a tribal politics. Compromise is a dirty word. Dysfunction is our emblem now. Order is out and patronage is king. No wonder communism, theocracy and dictatorship look preferable than our awesome democratic order. They deliver democracies can’t now and do not be fooled. They totalitarians keep very close tabs on their unfree people but tilt to them faster than our democracy does for us the Free People today. To meet their needs. But allow zero tolerance to independent thinking, dissent, questions, and free spirits of limited say of the common man and woman.

This is their Achilles heel. The reason why democracy will prevail. In the short-term democracies will flounder under mediocrity of purpose and means but lions for leaders emerge when least expected. The democratic format is solid. The Free People will bring it about adaptations. They always do to galvanize elite and powerful of our democracies of the order adapting. To meet their destiny. Totalitarianism is a supremacy one in which adapting fully to their unfree people means death to their order. For democracy it is just part of its discourse historically. No other system has gone from slaves of black folks to President Obama a Blackman in less than 250 years! Adapting is what democracies does best.

Every order strives like Darwin taught for its survival. Democracy is a beautiful thing. In that nobody changes faster than the free people its common man and woman to their environment and conditions. That if the elite, powerful, establishment and governments tap into they survive. If rigid in ways and ossified in form maintain narrow mindedness of their sole purpose of being is to itself only. Refusing to adapt as it is now in dogma and incompetence of dysfunction and tribal ways dominating process. Our democratic order will perish. Sooner rather than later. The onus is on the Free People to adapt and force change of order means in limited say powers.

Hey, we pray we adapt now. We engage ourselves now. Have a partisan side, have an opinion, have a say, do something, engage, say something importantly act for the good of all, heck even if it’s for self you don’t stand alone. There are many like yourself. For our democratic order is built on individual means not collectivism means. A smart democracy gets out of the way of the individual and allows maximum freedom to do for self. Allows mobility and maintains Merit based on performance not patronage or bias means.

It is survival of the fittest now in this age of Chaos upon us. Democracies are not any different as a species of governance order.

May it be easy for us. For democracy is a beautiful thing worth fighting for now. Peacefully and nonviolently for its survival. No more sermonizing and sanctioning others to our ways but persuasion means deployed to all. We don’t seek supremacy anymore in the age of chaos of multipolar powers world but survival of our democratic order now. As a minority order globally. We should seek friendship with the world and restore our order domestically. Co-opt our elites, powerful, establishment and government to deliver for us the common man and woman again. Preserve free people’s power for it to stay alive now or become the new Dodo bird extinct. It’s Darwin rules now. Survival of the fittest. Adapt or perish now.
