Dementia- Does Coloured Cutlery Work ?
Hello all, been a while since I posted this but as the internet is such a transient place and new contacts are made every day thought it would be a great idea to share again, Christmas is coming up and will soon be upon us, so why shouldnt pepole with dementia enjoy the wonderful tastes of Christmas and have a lunch just like everybody else, and at such a little cost of changing a couple of plates, knives, forks and drinking utencils? please click on this report and read how much it can help, read about the experiences of others who have tried this with great results and show your loved ones you care by changing the simplest of things
Love, Norrms (Diagnosed with dementia myself )

7 年Hi all In 2011 Cumbria County Council produced an evaluation on the "Picture This " project, this is on the use of blue plates and menu pictures. I talk about this in my dementia nutrition and hydration course. www.cumbria.gov.uk/elibrary/content/internet/327/40641102813.pdf

7 年Boston University actually carried research on the benefits of coloured tableware for people with dementia. This is a link to an overview of that study https://www.bu.edu/news/2004/09/24/bright-colors-spur-alzheimers-patients-to-eat-drink-more/ Hope it's helpful

7 年In early stages maybe somewhat useful especially if some of the mind is still accessible Colour plates may not make any difference at end stage. I appreciate it maybe for regressional purposes as to access memory past and not clear as to their purpose for those affected Sorry if I appear a bit dim
