Demand request in D365 F&O

Introduction

In this article we will see a very useful customized process for procurement enhancement that is demand request!!!

The major business benefit is that, we can decide if we have the required stock physically available in on-hand. So that we will be able to issue either in transfer order or movement journal.

If stock is not available the we will go for procurement by initiating purchase requisition.

If we have partial stock available, then we can partially issue and partially procure. This is the game changer process in D365 F&O procurement!!!

What is demand request?

? Formal request initiated within a D365 F&O for a particular inventory.

? Starting point for ensuring that the relevant inventory is available at the right time.

? The request includes a clear and detailed description of what is required.

From purchase requisition, no option to create transfer order or movement journal.

Functionality

• Every user will have access to create demand request and will only be able to review their own request only.
• The user can select the item or can enter the product name, item description and can attach image.
• The demand request will flow through the workflow, the store user will have the option to change or assign the item Once approved, the demand request will show on the Demand Request Review form which is for the store user.
