The increase in the movement of goods in Europe means that trucks are missing to transport goods, as reflected in the last barometer of TimoCom.
In the last three years, the European freight transport market has given a complete turnaround, so that if in 2016 there were more trucks than cargo in the continent, in the first quarter of this year the situation is the reverse, of So that the trucks that work in the continent can not cope with the volume of cargoes, as reflected in the last transport barometer of TimoCom published this week.
In this situation it has much to do with the economic boom that is living in Europe and that increases the transport volumes while the forecasts maintain a good level of confidence in the economy of the major European countries for the coming months.
This shortage of trucks pushes up prices and, it seems, according to the data handled by TimoCom, which allows transport companies to improve their margins, while putting the focus on the reduction of empty trips and optimization of cargo volumes on trips.
In this sense, the TimoCom transport barometer closes the first quarter of 2018 with an average proportion of loads and trucks in Europe in the fourth quarter last year of 54:46, compared to 43:57 which was recorded in the first three months of 2017.
Thus, in January there has been an index of charges of 60%, to go down to 46% in February and re-grow in March, to be placed at an index of 53%.
