Deltek's Strategic Move: Acquiring ProPricer to Revolutionize Government Contracting Solutions

In a significant move for the government contracting sector, Deltek, a notable name in project-based business solutions, has recently acquired ProPricer. This strategic acquisition is particularly newsworthy for those in government contracting, as it brings together Deltek's comprehensive project management expertise with ProPricer's specialized proposal pricing solutions.

Deltek, with its global presence, is already a respected provider of software and solutions tailored for project-based businesses. The addition of ProPricer, a prominent provider of proposal pricing solutions for government contractors, amplifies Deltek's service offerings. ProPricer, headquartered in Temecula, California, is renowned for its efficiency in processing cost and pricing data, a critical aspect of government contract proposals. This efficiency is achieved through tools that facilitate the rapid and precise development, submission, and evaluation of proposal pricing.

Importantly, ProPricer's software has been a key player in the industry since 1984, offering functionalities like storing historical proposal data and generating diverse reports. This enables government contractors to customize proposals and integrate all necessary data swiftly and cohesively within a single platform.

This acquisition marks a deeper collaboration between the two companies, which had previously been interconnected when ProPricer joined the Deltek Marketplace in June 2022. This move allowed Deltek's Costpoint and Cobra customers direct access to ProPricer's pricing platform, fostering a more integrated experience.

The union of Deltek and ProPricer is poised to offer unmatched solutions and services for government contractors. This collaboration aims to improve the speed and accuracy of estimating cycles, enhance bid quality, and ensure consistent proposal quality, ultimately contributing to the growth and efficiency of these firms.

Both CEOs, Joe Shurance of ProPricer and Mike Corkery of Deltek have expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition. They emphasize the strategic significance and the value it will bring to their customers, employees, and partners. This acquisition is not just a blending of products and services but also a merger of expertise and legacy, promising to shape the future of pricing solutions in government contracting.

This move is a significant factor in enabling what I call a single source of truth .. i.e., a continuous path for cost information to flow from the proposal phase to the execution phase. With some pre-planning concerning project numbers and WBS/CLIN structures during the proposal process the door is opened to moving proposal data into Cost Point and then tracking execution. The key benefit will be inl reduced set-uptime and cradle to grave history of what costs were proposed and how accurate was the estimate at project completion.
