Dell Reorganizes To Capture $2.1 Trillion IT Spend: 6 Things To Know

Dell Technologies' logo, which spells out the company's entire name, is in large white text against a rectangular-shaped black sign at an event. The word "Dell" in the logo is bolded and in all caps, and the "E" in "Dell" is tilted so that its bottom left corner lines up with the bottom of the "D" and two "Ls." The sign is set against a large metal grid in a conference center. This is the same image as the featured image in this edition of CRN Weekly.

Dell Technologies wants to seize a $2.1 trillion IT infrastructure opportunity and is ripping up the old framework to get there by "centralizing" its go-to-market strategy behind the idea of "one sales team, structure, and culture," according to an internal memo coauthored by Dell's Bill Scannell and John Byrne.

Portions of the memo were reported after Dell reported layoffs on Monday, part of Dell's reorganization for the AI era, to become "leaner" and focused on growth.

You can read O'Ryan Johnson 's in-depth look at the memo and further details on Dell's restructuring efforts here.

Plus, here's what Dell's Chief Partner Officer Denise Millard told CRN about the reorganization.

Cisco To Lay Off Around 4,000 Employees: Report

Cisco's logo, which spells out the company's name, is in large, bold red text against a light-brown colored sign outside of a corporate building in the same color. Above the word "Cisco," thick teal-colored vertical lines form a wave pattern.

Cisco will reportedly lay off around 4,000 employees in its second round of job cuts this year as the world's largest networking company doubles down on artificial intelligence.

The news follows Cisco's companywide layoff of about 4,250 employees in February. Here's what you need to know about the latest round of job cuts.
