Delivering on our commitment to City Year: another great workshop in the books!
A little while ago, our CMO Sander Arts wrote about the partnership between ClassGenius and City Year in this blog post.?
ClassGenius delivers intuitive generative AI tools that are transforming the way City Year AmeriCorps members support their students. Through our collaboration, City Year team members are equipped to fully support each student on their unique journey. From creating personalized passages that captivate their students’ interest and foster social-emotional growth, to skill-building assignments that adapt to each student’s learning style and pace, this partnership ensures that every student receives the focused, adaptable support they need to thrive.
As part of this collaboration, we co-host a series of workshops to support the professional growth of City Year’s AmeriCorps members. This month’s workshop was?a chance to celebrate our progress made so far and to reconfirm our shared vision. We focused on lesson planning, encouraging AmeriCorps members to view their week as an arc, and brainstorming innovative ways to integrate ClassGenius into their touch points with students.
We were energized by the passion and creativity of the AmeriCorps members and we all learned a lot.?
First and foremost, it was exciting to share and celebrate the progress. Since the last workshop, the City Year San José/Silicon Valley Corps team has created over 300 transformative learning moments. With additional professional development training, brainstorming sessions, and a focus on lesson planning strategies, we are ambitiously aiming to reach 3,000 transformative moments in the near future.
ClassGenius had accelerated the development of the roadmap and had introduced new features. First, assignments are now accompanied by custom pictures that create extra engagement with students. The AmeriCorps members are telling us that their students love the pictures! Secondly, we’ve created a community space within our product, so City Year AmeriCorps members can now share their creations with their peers.
The workshop, filled with brainstorms, peer sharing, and hands-on practice, was a success. AmeriCorps members sat down to think about the curriculum, weekly themes and topics, their students, and the countless ways ClassGenius can be leveraged to build hyper customized plans for the weeks ahead.
Here’s an impression of the morning and session that was held in Silicon Valley. We aim to onboard more Corps Members soon and we are aggressively increasing the number of learning moments as a team.
What’s next? We will continue to lead the way in pairing human connection and expertise with trusted, state-of-the-art AI technology and we will continue to measure the success of our program.
