We started-up and, working collaboratively with Azets leadership team, delivered Azets’ transformation from a collection of small businesses into a top 10 UK accountancy, tax and business advisory services firm.
The What
With a huge target SME market in the UK, Azets provides its clients with a range of accountancy and professional services, helping businesses and individuals achieve their ambitions.
Azets knew that if it grew big enough, it would be able to deliver services to SMEs at a scale and greater value no other provider could match.

The company set out on an ambitious acquisition strategy, procuring accountancy firms at a rate that resulted in Azets becoming the fastest growing accountancy services firm in the UK. The company started the process of consolidating these business as part of its vision for the future founded on a single UK business model, supported by common platforms and innovative technology, delivered by great people with a personal touch through local offices. Given Servita’s track record in helping clients transform their businesses and deliver large digital programmes Azets chose us to move them as quickly as possible toward that vision.
The How
Given the remit of setting up and delivering the business transformation programme from scratch, we began with the basics. Collaborating with senior stakeholders in the organisation, we created a Programme Management Office and implemented a means of qualifying transformational initiatives. We then set about working with initiative owners to generate business cases, secure funding and successfully deliver the projects providing a range of services including Business Analysis, Process Design, Enterprise Architecture and Data Transformation.
No aspect of business was left untouched. Sales and Marketing. Digital Services. Service Delivery. Finance. HR. Property. All areas optimised and standardised key business processes and converged on common platforms, a huge step forward from the fragmented approaches and toolsets that prevailed previously. And all this was achieved via remote working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A lasting legacy of this transformation programme are the monitoring and control disciplines necessary for ongoing benefits realisation and continuous service improvement, plus a supporting toolset that streamlines project and programme management processes.
The Outcome
Having been with Azets since the start of its transformation, we’ve seen a lot of success and the business is in a strong position to deliver consistent services to its clients with the efficiency and control you’d expect a top 10 UK firm to be able to achieve. It is now comfortable delivering change and there is no doubt current momentum will carry it a long way from here.

2 年Given the vast majority of progress with this programme was achieved whilst the world adjusted to a lockdown-COVID-savvy working regime, everyone who contributed should be proud of what they achieved and the successes enjoyed.
