Delivering complex change in environments where change is the only constant, meant our biggest battle was a "Single Source of Truth"

Some say its luck, they may be correct. I say fortune favours the brave.
We embarked on a journey 2 years ago because, as interim consultants and programme managers, the truth was often hard to find. Delivering complex change in environments where change is the only constant, meant our biggest battle was a single source of truth.
Time for another change………. PRIMED was conceived.
Draw the facts from the relevant sources, combine and present them to represent the truth. Simple. Well not that simple, first we had to create that eco-system for the data to be sourced and stored in a way that pushed the objections of "It's too difficult" away. We had to create presentation layers and functions that provided demonstrable value to push the "So What" objections away. We had to find compelling use cases and reasons to do it………GDPR, enter stage left!!
Maybe the timing was lucky to launch a new software that sits smack bang in the middle of one the biggest data centric upheavals in the digital generation, but who cares, because we are here now and what a difference we are making!
Our CEO – Andrew Gadd is on the front line of a major retailer assuring their path to GDPR compliance. Andrew suggests that "through being both hands on and with the power of PRIMED, great strides are being taken combining the rich set of data, the capabilities of PRIMED and the expertise in the business, to make sense of what they have and what they need to do. Compliance is a risk based discipline, this is where having your hands on all the facts enables a full view of risk to be understood and used to its full effect."
Andrew continues, "the digital philosophy, especially in the over used ‘Agile’ term is to test and learn, well this could not be more relevant to some of our GDPR implementations. Decisions can only be made with certainty when all of the facts are in front of you. Let me take you on a little GDPR journey we have taken with one of our customers just by asking the following questions"
- Do you know which business and IT policies need to be updated as a result of the GDPR regulations?
- Do you know which other regulations that these cross relate with?
- Can you evidence this?
- Have the consumers of these policies validated their compliance or expressed a risk?
- Can you evidence this?
- Do you know which of your assets, applications, tools store or manage PI or SPI data and to what scale?
- Can you evidence this?
- Do you know what level of prevention, protection, control and hygiene you apply to this data and the risk you carry?
- Do you know what processes use this data, the legitimate purpose and/or consent you have in place?
- Do you really know your risk and can you make informed decisions?
- Do you know where you can drop remediation into existing and future plans?
- How much can you really 'evidence' when you dig deeper?
"We’ve sourced (with ease), triangulated and presented all of this information back to them in just 8 weeks! They have tested their own ability to use the information they have and in many cases, did not have and learnt very quickly how to find it."
This is one use case where bringing together data, not in silo but in a relational way empowers a business to make informed decisions. The power of this exercise has even driven a behavioural shift inside our customer and an ‘ever-green’ data philosophy is being made part of their operating model.
Primed is providing program governance with data certainty and reporting efficiency. Primed is providing transparency and traceability for transformation and regulation.
We are working hard to provide stakeholders with a Single Version of the Truth and if you would like to know more, then please just reach out to us and we'll be happy to talk through our experiences with you.
