Delivering better protocols for clients on a budget with FDX Essential

At FDX we’re firm believers that using a centrifuge for a blood draw is the absolute gold standard when it comes to functional blood testing – it allows us to test more biomarkers and keep ones that are fragile more stable, so they produce accurate results.??
Centrifuging blood does, however, come at a cost. The draw itself is more expensive and finding phlebotomists without a centrifuge outside the major population centres can be a challenge.??
We’re also not immune to the prevailing financial winds that are still buffeting the country and appreciate that during a cost-of-living crisis, affording private healthcare is a challenge to many, especially those who are frustrated by not finding a solution to their problems in the NHS, which is equally and increasingly being squeezed financially. ? ? Taking all this into account led to us launching our Essential range of non-centrifuged tests last year. While they admittedly look at fewer biomarkers than the more in-depth panels of our Professional range, they marry a non-centrifuged blood draw and combine it with our comprehensive FunctionalDX reporting.??
Designed for clients with smaller budgets and/or without access to centrifuged phlebotomy, they are created from hand-picked biomarkers that are more stable in transportation back to the lab (which is the main reason for using a centrifuge in the first place).??
While notionally, we call the new Essential range our ‘lite’ panels they are, in fact, anything but, with up to 74 clinically relevant biomarkers, as well as an assessment of sugar management, lipids, inflammation, kidney and liver function, and baseline vitamin and mineral needs, all backed up by our cutting-edge reporting and analysis. Like all our tests, the new Essential range offers both incredible insight and great value for money. Crucially, they address several barriers we know healthcare practitioners have when it comes to functional testing:?
