Delightful Dubrovnik and Beyond
I may not be a travel agent, but after my recent trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia, I can confidently recommend it as a fantastic holiday destination. It offers the perfect blend of a cultural city break and a relaxing beach holiday.
Still basking in the memories of my trip, I wanted to share some details and photographs with you.
My week was packed with activities, starting with a ferry ride to Lokrum, one of the small islands off the coast of Dubrovnik. Lokrum is a little slice of heaven with its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere.
The next day, I embarked on another boat excursion, this time to the Elaphiti Islands. The guests were in high spirits, the crew was superb, and the lunch on board was delicious. The Elaphiti Islands – namely Kolo?ep, ?ipan, and Lopud – are well worth a visit.
I also visited the coastal town of Kotor in neighbouring Montenegro – another fabulous destination that I’d love to explore again. With temperatures soaring to 42 degrees Celsius, I found solace in the shade of a charming restaurant, enjoying the local cuisine. It was fascinating to learn more about the Balkan region too, and the history of the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Certainly, no visit would be complete without trying the local drink, Rakija, which boasts an alcohol content of at least 40%. Other alcoholic beverages are available, of course!
I definitely need to plan my next holiday soon, and I’d love to hear your suggestions on where I should go next…
