Feb 2017, there was an interesting
article by a Chef called Anthony
Warner.
To be honest it was the only thing
I read on the back page, cos thats
the first place I look when I pick
up a magazine !!
Anyone else do that ??
So this chef had a really good point
that we need to make some food the
"bad" guy.
We need to detox from...
Go cold turkey from...
.... Free Month
The mantle used to be
FAT,
then
CHOLESTEROL
now its
SUGAR
with the likes of DAVINA supporting
sugar free diets.
It really has made me clarify and
change my use of words where food is
concerned.
The general view on what "clean" eating
now means has made me stop using it
any more as its been "extremed" by popular
media.
MY view on it was honestly this ...
Create balance in your weekly food and
make it the healthiest choice possible for
you for whatever your goal is.
SIMPLE isnt it yes I would follow up with...
1 Have an awareness of processed foods
and swapping or reducing them where possible
if they form a large part of your weekly food.
2 Realising the over consumption of...
the usual foods based around sugar, including
cakes,bread, biscuits, is easy to do in this
day and age beacause of advertising media and
supermanrkets adverts and needs to be monitored
and reduced if they form a large part of your diet.
3 Never exclude a food group/food unless it
causes a health problem or for whatever reason
causes an unwanted reaction !
Waging war on 1 food group is not the way forward.
True healthy eating is not about guilt, syns, shame
and total restriction.
Its about knowing, accepting and embracing balance
in what we eat and if we dont feel we have the
knowledge of what the right balance is, ask someone
who really does know, and its not a ....
diet rep,
celebrity,
meal replacement sales person,
newspaper article
the woman you chat to in the coffee shop.
