#deletefacebook

#deletefacebook

I have said this on a Number of Posts with the #deletefacebook hashtag. Lets be honest, all Digital Platforms & Smart Devices know more about YOU than you want them to. Facebook got caught with their hands in the Same Cookie Jar all Social Media Platforms Eat from.

Twitter actually made some Profit this year and just a year ago they had Privacy issues, Cyber Bullying Issues & they where also used by Isis to spread propaganda, but they are still around and doing better.

Data is the Commodity that is worth more than any currency in the world.

Having 2 Billion people provide you with Free Information on what they eat, drink, wear and think about other people obviously makes you a target. You don't " Somehow" have two billion people go to your website Signup, Confirm an Email Address, add a contact number and start sending friend requests.

The reality is there has to be an enemy and so far in 2018 its Facebook.

Data Collection by Marketing Companies & Digital Platforms is a Dirty Game & in South Africa we know it even better because we get 5 Phone-calls a Day from Lead Generation Companies we never gave information to.

Delete Facebook if you want to, hell do a " Social Media Detox " so you can keep shifting the blame. I will bet not 1 of that 50 Million people who had data compromised where Forced to join Facebook, they all signed up willingly. Yes they expected their data to be safe, but in the age Technology & Data driven communication do we really read the terms & conditions or do we just press accept, next or continue until a hashtag trends.

At Facebook Headquarters a Few Developers probably had to avoid getting hit in the Face with a Book, but Facebook will survive this, so we will have to wait for the next Hashtag to trend before we can become keyboard warriors ready to #instantlydeleteinstagram or #unlinkfromlinkedin

If you want to be invisible, you must also be Silent. Get of your Smartphone, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, Amazon, WeChat, LinkedIn. Dont enter any competitions, Shop Online or Check into anywhere. Turn your Browser Location Tracking of, dont apply for any credit or shopping cards & dont even have a bank account. You have always been profiled. You have always been tracked, its just easier now. If you want to test what information you provide. See where you check in, what "Selfies" you post and what Data you provide for all those Stupid Facebook Apps that will show you how you will look like as the opposite sex. You, Candy, Crushed your way through tracking data so you can Pokemon Go yourself on a status update. I dont know you but I know where you shop, what you like to eat & OMG how hard you Party on a Friday Night. You Instagram yourself in your underwear and Facebook your Tequila. You Tweet about the Rude Uber driver while just providing more Data. Don't Blame Facebook, blame yourself for allowing it. Blame yourself for Clicking Next, Yes & Accept without reading the T's & C's so you can get Instant Gratification. If you want to Find the Source of the Biggest Data Leaks in World, just look in the Mirror.

The power Belongs to the Consumer. Simple ( SAAS ) Tools can Track Heat-maps of Location, Browser, Device & Website Browsing Behaviour. It's your responsibility to educate yourself & read T's & C's. They might not cover all aspects of data mining, but just clicking Accept or Yes is also not the answer to later then play the Victim. Look at all the 3rd Party Apps that Consumers use on Facebook. All Companies Sell & Trade Data lets just cut to that Truth. For Example, I never gave DSTV my number or the permission to call me, but they do at least once a month. Accept the Reality of Smart Devices & Apps. You are Tracked, You are being Categorized online and offline LSM, Location, Education, Income, this is how marketing has worked & will always work. We give this Data willingly: Order food for Delivery ( Where I live & what I eat ) Shop Online ( what I like to buy & where I live ) Uber ( where I travel a lot & where I live, work ) Enter a Competition ( Name, Surname, Number, E-mail Adress, Physical Adress ) Google tracks Browing & Search Behaviour Our Data should be better protected yes, but we should also take some responsibility and not just Click Yes & Accept.

Outside of the the T&C’s you touched on, how open are these networks about the trade offs between the app and the user? That the only reason you are able to access this product at no cost is because we get to mine your data and serve you persuasive messages that are psychographically targeted? There’s no T&C’s in the world that would overtly express that relationship the way I just did and if they did I doubt most people would sign up for that deal. When people receive an unsolicited call from a telemarketer they drop the call because it is quite clear what just happened. In the case of social media apps, I argue the same would happen if the apps were upfront about their true purpose.
