Delegation Fast-Track Card #2

?? Mindset: Delegation Starter

Consider your business processes, such as new client onboarding, marketing, hiring, or paying bills.?

Are there any processes that are a source of stress for you? If you doubled your monthly revenue, would that system hold up?

?? Tip: Lead Through Letting Go

This will sound counterintuitive, but what kills most businesses is success. Or, as one business expert put it, “It’s not starvation, but indigestion that kills most businesses.” Most often, as a business or enterprise grows through the herculean efforts of the founder, the organization's infrastructure does not grow at the same rate. If the business leader successfully brings new business in the door, regardless of the industry, complexity comes in with it. The quality of service diminishes. Commitments go unmet. Systems cannot keep up with demand. Once this trend starts, the business will begin to decline. The leader will burn out.

?We may not like to delegate, but it cannot be avoided if we want our visions to succeed. The need for delegation is ubiquitous in any organization experiencing growth. When systems and processes are present, your delegation efforts flow like a river instead of resembling the chaos of a tumultuous rainstorm.

As you plan new priorities and growth strategies, don’t skip the step to optimize your processes for delegation. The last place you want to be when that growth comes is deep in the day-to-day, putting out fires.?

?? Tool: Equip to Empower

Since we’re talking about process optimization, one of the best free software programs I started using early on in my business is Zapier , the app that can automate collaboration for most, if not all, of the other apps you use. Think, when this function happens in app X, app Y automatically does Z.

Check it out!

? Task: Your Delegation Challenge

Choose a process within your business that creates unnecessary stress or chaos and review that workflow for improvements. You want to grow, and your processes must be ready for the increased volume.

?? As you review the process, document which parts of that process require your singular talent.

?? For parts of the process that do not require your unique expertise, commit to a plan to delegate or automate those steps.

?? Invite your VA to review this process with you. Collaborate to determine a timeline and action plan to begin making changes.

Britt Trama, Founder of Trama Consulting Group

Meet Britt Trama of Trama Consulting Group

Brittany Trama is the founder of Trama Consulting Group , a boutique consulting firm specializing in helping fast-growing companies turn their new managers into effective leaders. Brittany brings over 15 years of diverse experience from the corporate world, where she worked with Fortune 500 companies including Walmart, Tyson Foods, and J.B. Hunt.

As a Kolbe Certified Consultant, 90-Day Year Authorized Partner, and Tiny Habits Certified Coach, she has dedicated more than 30,000 hours to supporting nonprofits, small businesses, and corporations. Her passion lies in helping new leaders accelerate their performance through rapid upskilling. Britt's career is marked by the development of tailored, impactful training programs designed to meet the unique needs of leaders and their teams.

In August 2022, Britt found Trusty Oak through her own online research (yay, SEO!) and, after speaking with our team, decided to invest in herself and her business by making the impactful decision to partner with a virtual assistant. She embraced our onboarding process and asked great questions to learn how she can be successful with a VA.?

Britt initially worked with a couple of different VAs – one for project coordination and admin and the other for social media and event coordination work. As needs and expectations evolved, the work transitioned to one amazing, multitalented VA, Alisha Soukaseume . Alisha’s top skills include project management, writing, and marketing. She serves Trama Consulting Group as their business operations manager, handling various tasks and communication to help Britt provide her clients with a high-touch experience. Alisha helps with workshop coordination, scheduling, research, CRM management, team task management, HR tasks, business development, and more!

Britt is an intentional leader, and the world is better because of her work training others to lead intentionally, too. We’re pleased to support Britt as she increases the incredible impact of Trama Consulting Group.

??? Upcoming Event: Join Trama Consulting Group for one of our monthly executive roundtables! These invite-only virtual conversations are an opportunity for leaders of fast-growing companies to connect, share insights, and collaborate with their peers.

The next executive roundtable is Friday, January 26th, at 12 pm ET. Contact [email protected] to request an invitation.

Trusty Oak has been an absolute game-changer for my business! Alisha is an absolute superstar. Not only is she super efficient, but also has this incredible knack for understanding exactly what the business needs at the right time. Alisha consistently provides valuable resources, such as potential leads, research she finds, and even helps me make important strategic connections. I truly enjoy working with Alisha and can't thank the entire Trusty Oak team enough for their support. - Britt Trama

Absolutely! ?? Optimizing processes for delegation is a game-changer. It reminds me of what Peter Drucker once said, "Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things." Absolutely spot on! ?? Delegation is not just a management strategy but an art that every leader needs to master. As Steve Jobs once said, “Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.” Optimizing processes for delegation indeed paves the way for innovative growth and leadership. ??? #leadership #innovation #stevejobs
