Delegate Taylor's Statement On The #IranDeal
Scott Taylor U.S. Congressman (FMR)
Consulting at Taylor Global Strategies (TGS)
American Diplomats should be applauded for efforts overseas, just as we applaud our American military. However, both the success of diplomats and the military depend on robust leadership and the flexibility to execute missions in the best interests of our nation.
The Obama administration has usurped American, and in turn, world security for a political win. Usually when you negotiate a “deal” you get something in return. Iran is the clear winner in this deal, who continues their nuclear program without immediate inspections, with sanctions lifted, with billions of dollars more in their accounts, and with the ability to get ballistic missiles in eight years. Russia is also a big winner, as they will sell arms and get nuclear contracts with Tehran and they have stated Obama promised not to set up missile defense in Europe if there was an Iran deal. Lastly, terrorist proxies all over the region will see their budgets increase.
Congress must have the courage to stand up to an administration that has, once again, put hope and wishful thinking above reality in the Middle East, to the detriment of American and world security. This deal, as it stands, will lead to an increasingly out of balance region and more, not less conflict.

6 年The Obama administration has put America in great danger with this deal. As a former FBI SSA who worked on the Robert Levinson investigation and learned way more than I expected on the ins and outs of Iran, I can not express how awful and grave this deal is. Additionally, they left retired FBI Agent Robert Levinson behind. This is inexcusable and downright cruel to his family and to all of the FBI. We were shown how little we mattered to the Obama administration. When I was in Iraq and Afghanistan for work, I had assembled my own ops team in case I went missing or was abducted. This was because I knew, from experience, that only my military friends and a select FBI colleagues were the only ones who would come free me. The Iran Deal is a grave deal.

9 年Right on point Scott! It's a sad day in America when politicians destabilize the very foundation we, as the military, are there to set.
