Deja Vu-It's Time for Tangible!

In January 2009 almost 6 months after the major shocks of the Global Financial Crisis hit the construction industry/property market/banking sector in Ireland I suddenly felt that 'the times they are a changing' and would not rebound as we all hoped. I then decided to do something.

I hadn't had any income for 6 months and there were no signs of a respite.

I then said to myself, what do I do now?

275,000 of us in the construction sector were now swinging in the wind. The only calls were from the Revenue Commissioners(Ireland's Inland Revenue). Work had stopped, hope was diminishing, solutions scarce.

I then thought of those old movies with Bing Crosby or Mickie Rooney who always seemed to save the day by organising a concert in the parish hall or local theatre. I thought, let's get some heads together and stir the pot a bit about regenerating our mojo and creativity.

I knew early January 2009 would be bleak when all the money would be gone having dug deep down in the back of the couch to deliver a happy and enjoyable Christmas for family and friends.

I approached a whole bunch of movers and shakers to see if they were available and thought my idea had merit.

To my shock everyone answered their phone, everyone agreed and everyone committed to an event on the first Thursday of 2009.

We ended up calling it 'Tangible Flight Plan 2009'

It was a great success and we created some positive momentum which led to the ongoing Tangible Leadership Series which has convened over 130 Leadership Workshops on 3 Continents.

My INTUITION tells me we are again heading in uncharted waters as we approach the Winter Solstice here in Melbourne.

I reckon we need to get some heads together again and identify ways to make headway in these challenging times.

Our next event is focused on GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES and will be convened via Zoom on 30th June 2022 at 10 pm Irish time.

In July we'll touch base with our friends on the West Coast of the USA where Annemarie du LeBohn will co-convene our event with close supervision from Don Surath .

These are challenging times, let's gather the clans, circle the wagons, light the fire and face the future with Tangible OPTIMISM!
