DEI in Remote and Hybrid Workplaces: How to ensure your remote or hybrid company is being DEI conscious.

According to Work Well Remote , 14% of workers are full-time employees working fully remotely, 57% working in? the office full time, and 29% are hybrid workers.

The work environment has changed drastically since the COVID 19 era. Before the pandemic only about 7% of paid workdays were remote. Companies have embraced remote working even after the pandemic and these figures will continue to increase every year.

Most candidates prefer to apply to companies that adopt remote or hybrid working so if a company wants to keep growing, they will need to adopt these practices in order to get good talent.?



With these working environments it’s easy for DEI practices to get swept under the rug. So here are some ways you can ensure that they don't:

→ Have a flexible work environment. Sometimes not all employees are in the same geographical location so be mindful and considerate of their timing.

→ Allow employees to celebrate their different cultural or religious events.

→ Use digital tools that are accessible to every employee.

→ Host virtual social events to help employees relate better and learn about each other's backgrounds.

→ Adopt more diverse hiring from different locations since there is no commute needed.

The goal is to make everyone feel included and valued regardless of the type of working environment.
