The DEI Directory: A User’s Guide

“This directory is more than just a resource; it is a call to action. We hope it makes it easier to strive for a more inclusive workplace, society and world.”— Parmesh Shahani, Head, Godrej DEI Lab

Hi and welcome to this public resource. It was made just for you.?

The DEI Directory is designed to be a comprehensive public repository of resources to help foster more inclusive and equitable workplaces and work cultures. It is a frequently updated, fully searchable curation of shareable knowledge and recommendations about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and reflects our ongoing learning about these subjects, as well as the values of our parent company, the Godrej Industries Group.

Over our time at the Lab, we’ve frequently needed to look up data, find service providers for inclusion-related work and celebrations, pick up a book, get a quick guide to how to better serve a particular cohort – and lots more. So, in one sense, the Directory is a reflection of the work we have been doing over the last year. We would like you to find all these useful items in one place. When we say ‘you,’ we mean everyone, including DEI practitioners, Human Resources professionals, business students, academics, policy researchers, and anyone interested in cultivating a workplace that embodies the principles of inclusion.

This project is organised into two major sections: external resources and group resources.

For external resources, we’re collating up-to-date research and reports from trustworthy sources, indices, manifestos, guidelines, white papers, and more. We also have recommendations for books, videos and media that we find helpful in learning about inclusion.??

A group resources section compiles materials generated by various businesses within the Godrej Industries Group over the course of their own inclusion journeys. Through this, the directory aims to not only offer current insights but also build an archive for future reference for anyone who needs a helpful resource to make their workplace or their course of study more inclusive.??

We’ve divided the directory in the following 4 categories:??

  1. Women?
  2. PwD (persons with disabilities)?
  3. LGBTQIA+?
  4. Overall Inclusion?

?They are based on our three key focus cohorts. The last category, ‘Overall Inclusion,’ is for resources which cover all three or in nature are general in relation to workplace inclusion. It also deals with resources on with multiple identities and intersectional engagements.?

All the resources are further categorised into these eight filters:??

  1. Industry and Business Reports?
  2. Academic Research Reports?
  3. Books, Guides and Newsletters???
  4. Videos and Podcasts??
  5. Courses and Fellowships??
  6. Centres?
  7. Consultants?
  8. Service Providers?

This directory is more than just a resource; it is a call to action. We hope it makes it easier to strive for a more inclusive workplace, society and world.

One more thing: we would love to keep building it out with you. If you have any resources that you would like to see included in the directory, or any questions about our choices, please write to us at [email protected].

You can access the DEI Directory here.

How To Use This Resource:?

  • Go to the focus cohort or category you’re interested in?
  • Use the drop-down filter on the right to find the type of resource you’re looking for: (For example, ‘industry and business reports’ under ‘gender’ related resources for key reports related to women in the workplace)?
  • You can also use the search bar to look for resources with specific keywords?
  • Browse and enjoy!?
