Here are the ways I win hackathons:

Adaptability is key. Be ready for anything. I've faced disappearing teammates, failed MVPs, and Wi-Fi issues during demos. Always have backup plans, and backups for those backups. Assume anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Most hackathons only prohibit pre-written code. Planning, however, is fair game. For top-tier hackathons (TreeHacks, HackMIT, etc.), have your team, idea, and design ready beforehand.

Here's my routine:

1. ???????????? ????????????: Finalize team, brainstorm ideas.

2. ?????????? ????????????: Finalize idea, create Figma/wireframes.

3. ?????????? ????????????: Research tech stack, read documentation, pivot if needed.

4. ???????? ????????????: Create and practice pitch.

During the hackathon, all that's left is coding.

Know your audience and judging criteria. Different hackathons have different focuses.
