The Definition of Success

No one ever said life would be easy. It takes hard work, dedication and courage to be successful in life. Success isn't ready made. It's about learning how to let go of expectations. It's about accepting responsibility, and doing your best no matter what happens from one moment to the next. It's about never giving up...

Actions always speak louder than words, but sometimes harsh words can provoke powerful actions. Last night, I watched South Carolina upset Duke in the second round of the men's NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament. I witnessed a fierce coach motivate his team with harsh words and intense actions. Coach Frank Martin managed to rally his troops, leaving it all on the court. Although the analysts predicted an easy Duke win, the Gamecocks reminded us that nothing in life is guaranteed.

When our actions do the speaking, it matters nil what others have to say. How important are the critics and their predictions at the end of the day? In this case, absolutely irrelevant!

No one among us is perfect. Your individual characteristics make you uniquely you. There will never be another identical soul. In fact, you are truly one of a kind!

No matter what happens, don't give up. Most of us fail to realize how close we are to success when we throw in the towel. 

Don't give up before the miracle happens. Success is about defying the odds, not playing it safe. Live a little, and don't be afraid to gamble in life. Leave it all on the court and dare to be great; it's what separates the average from the extraordinary.
