Quote:

"Approach what you find repulsive, help the ones you think you cannot help, and go places that scare you."

- Machik Lapdr?n

Reflection:

If we are honest with ourselves, we can see that each of us is defined—and thus confined—by our hopes, fears, and preferences. This is why Machik Lapdr?n, an 11th-century Tibetan yogini, encouraged her students to push beyond their boundaries by facing what frightened them, approaching what repelled them, and confronting challenges that could help them transcend the limitations of their minds.

What do you find repulsive? Get closer to it. Who do you think is beyond help? Try to help them. What places in your mind scare you? Go into them.

Action:

Where in your life are you letting self-made boundaries or limits define you? How are you confined by your own beliefs, thoughts, and emotions? Find one way today to go to a place that scares you.
