Define Your Own Question
Oftentimes, in school and in workplace, we are given problems to solve. No matter it is an open question or a closed one, the question is given. Then we just throw ourselves out on the road to pursue the answers. We become excited when the answers are in hand and frustrated when we get lost in puzzles. Over time we have developed attachment to our answers. When they’re adopted, we feel accomplished and get rewarded; when they’re rejected, we feel hurt and get defensive.
We spent years after years trying to answer the questions defined by others. Until one day, we have no problems to solve then the void comes in. To fill the void, we start begging “PLEASE give me a problem! I don’t know what to do without it!”
The void is a form of vast wisdom. It is a blank space filled with infinite possibilities. It is an opportunity to define your own questions in life. It is a chance to listen deeply to your heart – what it truly desires for.
Stop chasing the answers.
Pause.
What question(s) are you asking yourself at this moment?
Listen to it (them).
