Define the Problem

I asked an acquaintance: When you see me do you immediately think a "Black Man" or do you see a "Man" who happens to be Black?

Humm. I have read a lot of people talk about the problem, the systematic racism that affects our society. I live by the description that I am Black Man, and people react to me thus. If you want to heal, the first step is to define the problems.

Poor underfunded schools, lack of adequate financial education, loathing, and these are just a few. Next, what are the solutions?

We need to push for better funding for our schools and better pay for educators so that the schools can attract talent. I don't care if you are a teacher from the heart, you still need to survive. Pay the educators. If there is one thing we have all learned from this pandemic is that we can level the playing field.

Students are given laptops to learn from home, internet providers are stepping up to provide internet for those that are less fortunate. It can happen. Educate the mind, and the rest will follow.

Dr. Maria Montessori started the Casa dei Bambini—Italian for "Children's House" to educate children society regarded as unable to learn, the most disadvantaged unschooled children. How things change.

The solution to the problems requires representation. I applaud Alexis Ohanian for making such a bold move, giving someone else the opportunity to be represented at the table. I am not suggesting that all business executives resign, but look around the board room, look at the executive table, does it represent the diversity your organization claims to support and promote? How can you resolve an issue if you do not speak to those that live and deal with the problems?

Lets put aside our biases and come as one to find solutions to the problems. "We have limited time on earth, and we owe it to ourselves to always present the best version of ourselves." I remain cautiously optimistic. God Bless
