Define: "intelligence" for AI's

Another contribution to IT trivia by an own article is writing about the question what makes artificial intelligence really intelligent. AI still seems to be a quite specialized thing, using deep learning algorithms, but always focussed on a certain purpose, e.g. picture recognition, robot teaching, data science, process automation, or chat bots...up to you to complete the list.

Many of you may know that the definition of intelligence given by the Turing test became outdated, as the test is passed by applying skills rather than by being really intelligent.

Saying, that an artificial intelligence passing the test, would be called intelligent, when a human (H) being within a discussion of a computer (C) cannot be clearly identified by another human (T, as third party), which of those first two is the human and which is the computer.

A proof for the obsolence of that test can be given by looking at available GPT-3 apps (generative pre-trained transformer, which use deep learning approaches and focus on the imitation of human language and even logic).

The GPT-3 applies, just to bring the few aspects I know, correct grammar rules for english, and is able to create new, even conclusion-look-alike phrases, technically using bigrams and trigrams. After all, the AI can only be as good as the information to be found somewhere written down in the internet. But a human being would not - focusing on hard facts - act so much differently.

If you never have heard about this, one very nice example is accessible and nevertheless highly impressive: check out the conversations between the so-called "wisebeing" (www.wisebeing.ai), the AI, and Kirk Ouimet, the human (https://twitter.com/kirkouimet). I personally liked the discussion about inflation risk in COVID times, the question about love, and the self-reflection about artificial intelligence.

Overview on all published conversations here. About corona and inflation risk / about love / about itself... just click on my hyperlinks.

If you wish, you would even be able to ask for an "audience" with the wise being - unluckily, you'll have to queue a lot, and I guess, that Kirk is summarizing and condensing his own conversations and just published the most interesting answers. The company Open AI was financed, at least during starting phase, by Elon Musk and other big players.

Reading the results is really amazing. But it is just another, even quite breath-taking specialization. Thanks to all wise beings in this universe that real wisdom still comes from human experience and cannot be replaced so soon.
