Small businesses with innovations to assess burn wounds for evolving immunopathogenesis, immune dysfunction, and/or pathogenic invasion within the burn lesion without requiring dressing removal may submit their solutions for the opportunity to receive funding from DHA. Up to $15M Available for Phase II SBIR Awardees | Sept. 18, 2024 | Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI)/Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI)?| AFWERX

Small businesses that have been awarded a Phase II SBIR contract within the last two years are eligible to apply for additional funding through the U.S. Air Force’s STRATFI/TACFI program to help them bridge the “Valley of Death'' between Phase II and Phase III.? STRATFI/TACFI can be based on a Phase II contract from another service, however, the effort must have an Air Force end-user. Submissions close Sept. 18.

Funding Available for Host-Directed Therapeutics to Treat Viral Disease | Sept. 24, 2024 | Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grants | Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBD)

Biomedical professionals with the ability to develop broadly active host-directed therapeutics to be used as treatment for disease or as prophylactic medical countermeasures may submit their solutions to the CBD program for the opportunity to receive funding. The viral biothreat families of interest to the DoD include: Filoviruses, Togaviruses (Alphaviruses), Arenaviruses, Paramyxoviruses, Poxviruses (Orthopoxviruses), and Hantaviruses. Submissions are due Sept. 24.

Small businesses with the ability to develop quantum sensors to detect low concentrations of chemical threats with high specificity may submit their solutions to the CBD program . Submissions are due Sept. 24.

Small businesses with innovations for battery technologies may submit their solutions to the Army for the opportunity to receive a $250,000 Phase I SBIR grant or a Direct to Phase II (DP2) SBIR grant. This topic is currently in pre-release. Submissions open on Sept. 10 and close on Oct. 15.

Innovators with technologies for diesel engine compatibility or a drone radio frequency (RF)-optimized nodal element antenna system may submit their proposals for the opportunity to receive SBIR grant funding from the Navy.
