MoD Funds Development of Novel Technologies to Defeat IEDs

Allen-Vanguard ?has secured? UK Ministry of Defence ?funding to develop novel technologies and techniques, in partnership with? Plextek ?and? Pulse Power and Measurement Ltd (PPM) , for countering IEDs.

Allen-Vanguard has been developing the concept of?Remote Radio Heads (RRH)?to maximize the efficiency and increase the inhibition range delivered by its electronic countermeasure systems, whilst minimizing their SWaP consumption.

The funding will lead to the development of a RRH demonstrator to de-risk several key areas associated with its development and?use in the land-based cyber electromagnetic environment.?Learn more>

BLOS Range Extension for Tactical Radios Demonstrated to US DoD

Spectra Group , in partnership with? Inmarsat , has successfully demonstrated cross-country, multi-site tactical communications of?Inmarsat’s L-TAC service to the US Department of Defense using its?SlingShot?system.

A key component of the demonstration was to prove the ability of SlingShot, fitted to existing radios and using L-TAC to augment existing DoD Ultra High Frequency SATCOM capabilities globally by scaling to many users over a vast coverage area.
