Defend those who cannot defend themselves

Introduction: Our most precious treasures are our children. Each child has a right to be born, to be loved, to have a father and mother committed to God and their child, to be protected, to be nurtured, to be disciplined and to die a natural death.

Whereas: God gave the command, "Do not commit murder" (Exodus 20:13, NIrV); and

Whereas: the US Supreme court violated the US Constitution and committed a heinous crime wherein it legalized the premeditated murder of innocent, helpless babies in its infamous Roe v. Wade decision, becoming an accessory to murdering over 60 million unborn children; and

Whereas: In Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court declared it could not resolve "the difficult question of when life begins" – and on the basis of this unresolved question, declared a new "right to murder a whole class of people" based on a "right of privacy"; and

Whereas: The Declaration of Independence declares that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that, all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it..."; and

Whereas: The 5th Amendment reads, "No person shall be ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law...."; and

The 14th Amendment reads: "nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law...."; and

Whereas: A baby cannot commit a crime, therefore it cannot be tried in a court of law and it cannot be sentenced to death; and

Whereas: In Roe, the Supreme Court admitted: "If . . . personhood [for the unborn] is established, the appellant’s case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [Fifth and Fourteenth] Amendments..." (Roe v. Wade [410 US 113 at 156-7]); and

Whereas: Science is clear that human life begins at conception when a new human being is formed; and

Whereas: Logic, common sense and reason affirm that life begins at conception; and

Whereas: The American people oppose abortion-on-demand and want innocent human life to be protected especially when it is most defenseless; and

Whereas: It belongs to Congress to resolve the question the Supreme Court lied by saying it could not resolve; and

Whereas: Former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop stated that in his many years of pediatric surgery, he never faced a case where a baby should be aborted to save a mother's life; and

Whereas: A Life at Conception Act, by declaring that unborn children are persons legally entitled to constitutional protection, will rescue millions of unborn children from dying by abortion-on-demand; and

Therefore: I urge the US Congress to cosponsor and cast every vote for a Life at Conception Act, and to do everything necessary to win ultimate passage in the United States Congress.
