Defeat Is A State Of Mind

You are only defeated when you believe you are - it’s a state of mind. When things don’t work out the way you wanted them to, find out why; because you don’t want to find yourself making the same mistakes over and over again. As we all know persistence is essential, but without experimentation you may keep trying the same things over and over again and wonder why you don’t get a different result. Sometimes all it takes is finding another way.
Most ambitious people go through life with no shortage of persistence. Where they fail is in having a lack of experimentation in their approach. People who have dogged persistence often grab at an idea and won’t let it go. They become obsessed with something working out a certain way and because of their obsession are blind to the option of finding another way.
Knowing when to find an alternative route to get what you want makes it possible. When you take a retrospective look, generally the signs have been there from the very beginning when things don’t work out. Success lies in believing in yourself enough and knowing you can do anything - you just need to find a way.
The problem many people encounter is that when things become too challenging they adopt a defeatist attitude, and they submit to defeat because they have only tried one or maybe two different avenues to reach their goal. When you change your thinking you change your outcome from a negative to a positive. A problem is only unsolvable when you think it is unsolvable. By refusing to allow yourself to think something is impossible it becomes possible. Sometime you need to step away from a situation, to become less fixated on the problem, and see it from a different perspective to find the solution.
