Thanks for this timely piece and your insight. OpenAI has reportedly accused DeepSeek of using OpenAI's models to create DeepSeek. There are also reports that DeepSeek might have actually used advanced Nvidia chips that they acquired before export controls were in place and/or obtained in violation of these controls. If these accusations are indeed facts (and of course we don't 100% know yet) then their accomplishments are on thin ice. I guess time will tell but regardless the industry should expect rapid advancements and declining costs just like Moore's Law in chip manufacturing which will benefit us all.
