Deep voice of a student

From the old pages of a diary came this poetry written during the initial years of my career as an educator. #Celebrating teacherhood #Evening nostalgia

I am learning....

The text which does not unfold the mystery of my life.

I am learning....

The lesson which fails to teach me how to struggle and strive.

I am grasping the information which is not related to my immediate world.

I am learning....

To accept the reality that my inner voice will never be heard.

I am learning....

For the world and by the world,

Forgetting the world inside me.

I am learning....

To ignore my perceptions and blindfold what my eyes could see.

I am learning....

To be a follower not a leader,

To be a manipulative puppet who needs a spoon feeder.

My meaningless fear for marks,

Marks which have never been mine.

They only belonged to my textbooks which changes from time to time.

How will I learn to adapt in a social world?

By being so unsocial with myself

Yet...

I am learning....

This endless process of learning

Which has never started in its real sense.

By detaching myself from my soul,

I am losing my dignity and moving away from my goal.....

This poem reflects a deep inner voice of a child who has been a part of the conventional education system and how a teacher acts as ray of hope to help him find a purpose of learning in the education system.

In the midst of the grudges,

Bitterness and negativity,

Towards the system

From darkness of flaws to loopholes

Seeming far away from my goals

I.....

I found a ray of hope

My only ray of hope.....

We are on the two sides of the same coin,

With hearts to connect and hands to join.

Sitting on the peak of my knowledge tree,

When I'll grow old and see

The journey of my life,

Your teachings that helped me survive.

Learning from you brings a sense of relief

Enriches my confidence and strengthen my belief

Failures have tried to hamper my aim

But you...

You have stood by me and helped me to achieve fame

Challenges have overpowered my way

But your motivation has enlightened my day.

I

I might fall quite a times to rise so high

The world is mine,

You have made me strong to fly.....fly.....fly....

Teacher, my dear teacher

Thank you

Expressing my gratitude to

My only ray of hope

For reaching deep in me

To find all I can be.

And today,

I

I am still learning...

Learning in the same education system

Learning through the same system

Learning with the same system

From a student to an educator

I am learning....

From a seeker of hope

To the creator of hope

Into the lives of my young students

I am learning

Learning to grow and be at my best

Keeping everything else at rest.

Wishing a joyful Teacher's Day to all the remarkable educators for their invaluable dedication to shaping the lives of their students.
