Dedoco: 2021, Year in Review

As we end the year, we took the time to reflect on Dedoco's journey. To summarise, we were building castles and fighting dragons in 2021.

Building castles. We’ve spent the past year building foundations, the most important being our people. When we ended 2020, we had 10 staff in total. Now (at the close of 2021), we have 31 Dedocoers in 4 global locations (Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Australia). These include key management hires in areas of Operations, Engineering, Marketing and Partnerships coming onboard to expand on our competencies. We look forward to welcoming more Dedocoers to the team as we scale our digital and physical presence globally. Location wise, we’ve also set up offices in Malaysia and Australia this year.

We have also been hard at work building our digital assets, the product and development team has been enhancing current functionalities and bringing to life new features for our users. The product team created more than 1000 pages of wireframes were produced by the team. Our code repository grew by 1.46 million lines across all our projects and about 19000 files were created. Deployment wise, we amassed around 20000 mins of Github actions in the last quarter of 2021 alone. We rolled out our first integrations to Slack via Zapier this month and are looking forward to more such integrations. We will continue this momentum in 2022 as we look to roll out new features such as Video Signing and integrations with Cloud Drives and other Enterprise applications.?

Fighting Dragons. We’ve been on quest after quest, securing deals and deploying products. 2000 over emails were sent by our sales and partnerships team. Thanks to their efforts we closed accounts and partnerships with the likes of government agencies, banks, financial institutions, fintechs, professional services and real estate companies. Kudos to the development team for deploying these projects while juggling the development of our platform features.

Of course a major milestone for us was the closing of our pre-A funding round led by Vertex Ventures. With Vertex’s guidance, we are now more poised than ever to extend our reach and head towards our A round.?

We also passed our ISO 27001 audit this year and obtained the certification in December. It was an excellent exercise for our team, preparing us on the path to formalise our policies and procedures as we grow.

What's Next for Dedoco. 2021 was an interesting year for the world of blockchain, huge returns found in NFT investment have attracted much interest for the technology. It is now a better time than ever to be in the blockchain space. Dedoco’s unique take on enterprise blockchain is an open and flexible one, enabling all enterprises big or small to partake in the use of blockchain to improve their business process. My hope is for Dedoco to become the de-facto enterprise application that will enable business processes in the Web 3.0 future of “personalised” data.?

Another trend this year is the Metaverse, this virtual world we are all supposed to be engaged in. For businesses, many are looking to incorporate virtual experiences for their customers and AR to enhance workplace collaboration in the post-covid world. Dedoco will look to make the enterprise experience truly meta by enhancing back office digitisation and automation for enterprise ecosystems. This will form the backbone of our product strategy going forward.?

Overall, I’m excited about what 2022 will bring, and am looking forward to all the opportunities and challenges! Seasons Greetings to all and we'll be seeing you soon!
