Decoding CA Results: Is It a Career, a Passion, or Your Destiny?

Recently, the CA results were announced, felt highly elated for many who now proudly wear the CA feather on their hats. But after clearing CAs the emotions of joy and achievement in no time will transition to a state of deliberation on what’s next. Where journey of CA was like Super Mario clearing his stages sequentially to find his treasure, finding the career path now is like playing an open world game with no defined sequence and path.

This reminds me of my days of clearing CA exams. As a young Chartered Accountant?aspirant?at?21As a young Chartered Accountant aspirant at 21, my singular focus was to become a Chartered Accountant, much like Arjun's bird's eye. Achieving this goal was everything to me. Soon I achieved that milestone, the new responsibilities left me in a state of confusion, I was utterly clueless about my next step. My initial plan was to pursue an MBA and continue my studies for another two years. But life had other plans.

With a good rank in CA Finals the job offers started coming in to my deck, I felt the haul of the corporate world. Despite my reluctance, I accepted to the charm of a high-paying package and corporate exposure. My life had mostly been confined to my hometown, and I craved the experience that a company like ITC could provide. I joined their internal audit team, the team have only 12 people from pan India. It was a Mini MBA in itself with a lot of practical insights, and the first few months were thrilling as it was training period.

However, life took an unexpected turn. The CAT exams I had prepared for were leaked, and the re-exam dates clashed with my job commitments. I decided to continue with ITC, where I spent three years. In ITC I learned so many invaluable lessons and these lessons broadened my understanding of business operations, I got the skill set for which I never anticipated. Yet, a part of me craved for something different. Eventually, I returned to Indore my hometown and I started my CA practice.

I got too occupied during evening hours but had time in morning. In an attempt to fill my free mornings, I began teaching and gradually I discovered my true passion. Teaching became more than just a way to occupy free hours. I found deep fulfilment in shaping the careers of aspiring CAs and sharing the knowledge that I had gained

.

To all the new CAs and those still on their journey, remember It's perfectly fine not to have everything comprehend. If you have, consider yourself blessed. But if you don't, that's alright too. Embrace the chances that come your way, give the best dice roll in your chance, and build meaningful connections. Eventually, you'll find your path, just as I did. Life is not about having a blue print of every action but, about making the most out of the journey. Trust the process, stay open to the new experiences, and you will discover your true calling for sure.
