Families will reflect on the quality of decisions you help them make, for decades. When wealth moves between generations the impact can be massive. They want to do it right. You want to do it right. And the next generation definitely wants it done right.
But how will you make it work? It’s more than just tax law, insurance and investment. You will not promote the harmony of a family without hearing their voices, and helping them map out a vision that matters to them, and inspires them.
As my good friend and faculty member Courtney Pullen stated in his book Intentional Wealth, "Modern research confirms the truth of this adage; some 90% of affluent families lose their wealth by the end of the third generation. The true tragedy is that, as the wealth dissolves, so does the family".
In January of 2017, my firm launched a new program called ECHO. While this is a new program specifically designed to teach our turn-key generational wealth system, the content has been around, tested and proven successful for over two decades. See we believe passing on wealth without values, the proper education and a strategy for the family to be successful is just simply wrong. This has as much to do with why so many families fail as anything. At the end of the day its up to the advisors to educate them, to inspire them, to guide them and create a path for them to be successful.
