Welcome to December’s Newsletter!

We are starting to wind down and get ready for a lovely end-of-year break with family and friends. We hope you are too!

This month we'll be covering the following:

Giving Tuesday campaign success

Thank you to everyone who took part in our Giving Tuesday campaign this year!

Our campaign this December was all about doubling the impact that our donors were making -and being 'Better Together'.

Through our 'Better Together' campaign, we matched every donation made through Payroll Giving from 2nd to 8th December, helping employees across our partner organisations amplify their support for their favourite charities.

And we were so grateful and happy to receive a record amount of donations for our Giving Tuesday campaign on Giving Tuesday itself!

On the day, we raised ￡20,000 for 70 different charities.

As a result of our matching, this means we will be giving ￡1,037 on top too!

We are thankful to everyone who took part, including organisations that hosted special events. Thank you so much for your support. You've made a world of difference to the charities you chose to donate to.

As we're nearing the end of the year, we thought this would be an ideal opportunity to thank our amazing fundraising team for all their hard work!

We are so grateful for the amazing work that you do with all our partners - you are tenacious, determined and creative and we are so thankful for everything you do.

Our team is made up of outstanding individuals who work tirelessly to fundraise on behalf of our charities - whether that be face-to-face or online.

We quite simply couldn't do this without you! Thank you for everything you do and for a great 2024!

Celebrating 30 years at our AGM this week!

This week we hosted our 2024 AGM! It was an amazing time for the team to get together, catch up, and celebrate our great year at Hands On Payroll Giving.

In our 30th year, our AGM was also a unique opportunity to collectively reflect on the past year and be grateful to all our colleagues and partners who have made it so successful.

It was also a special time to remember just how far we've come and what an impact we've made on the sector too.

It's been an incredible 30 years and we have achieved so much - whilst still being independent and family-owned!

We shared the following impressive facts with our wider team whilst thanking our CEO Wendy for everything she's done to get us here!

• Did you know that Payroll Giving was introduced under the Finance Act of 1986 and officially launched in 1987?
• We launched in 1994, the same year the Channel Tunnel was officially opened and Four Weddings and a Funeral was released!
• By 2004 Payroll Giving reached a milestone of generating over ￡100 million annually for UK charities.
• In 2007 Argos and Hands On Payroll Giving achieved the new Gold Payroll Giving award for encouraging more than 10% of employees to join the scheme.
• 2012 marked 25 Years of UK Payroll Giving raising over ￡1.2 billion for charities.
• In 2018, we finally moved out of Wendy our CEO’s garage office to our Orchard House office!
• By 2029, 1 million employees were donating to charity through Payroll Giving contributing over ￡133 million a year.
• In 2023, we celebrated the 35th anniversary of Payroll Giving! And after a tough couple of years due to the pandemic, we finally surpassed the number of pledges pre-Covid.

And we are still family owned and the longest-running PFO in Payroll Giving which we are super proud of!

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to our journey and made our story such a success. It really is about the people and the generosity of all the employees of the organisations we work with.
