U.S. Remains the World’s Top LNG Exporter as Shipments Hit Record High
The United States will remain the world’s largest LNG exporter in 2024 ahead of Qatar and Australia as America’s liquefied natural gas shipments are set to increase to a new record high from the previous all-time high of 2023.

EPA: Methane emissions down 44% in top oil and gas producing basins
Methane emissions from the largest oil- and natural gas-producing basins fell 44% between 2011 and 2013, according to newly published data from the Environmental Protection Agency.
According to the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, methane emissions dropped in seven oil- and natural gas-producing basins by up to 87% from 2019-2023.

As colder weather arrives in Texas, the Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) on Monday highlighted the many steps the industry takes to prepare for weather events to ensure reliable oil and natural gas production and transportation no matter the weather.

Shale drilling techniques could lead to a geothermal surge, IEA says
The shale drilling techniques that led to a boom in oil and gas output have also spurred the development of geothermal, which in theory could provide a stable source of power equal to the demand of India and the United States combined, the IEA said on Friday.
Speaking after publication of the Paris-based agency's first report on geothermal energy, International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol said the source was suited to providing the massive amounts of stable energy data centres require.
