December Newsletter
Dear friends of Sobell House,
At the November Trustees’ meeting it was announced that ‘Last year (April 2022 - March 2023), Sobell House provided care to two thirds of the people who died in Oxfordshire. The national average reach for hospices is 46% of people who die in their area, which means that we exceeded the national average by 20% and were able to be there for more people who needed us.’ The care the hospice team provide is absolutely invaluable to those who need it and is only made possible with your help and generosity.?
So many of you have helped in so many ways this year, through volunteering at an event, in one of our shops, maintaining the garden or helping in the office. By offering a raffle or auction prize or donating items to our shops and warehouses. Through fundraising in the office, taking part in a challenge event or joining our herd for OxTrail.? Every single act of kindness supports our patients and their families and ensures that Sobell House Hospice can continue to care for those in the community at the time they need it most.
Please get in touch about ways you and your organisation may support us in 2024 – however big or small, crazy or innovative, we would love to hear from you and share ideas of how we may continue to serve the Oxfordshire community.
As we draw to the end of the year, we want to say a huge thank you?for all of your support and help, we simply couldn’t do what we do without you.
From everyone at Sobell House Hospice, we wish you a peaceful and relaxing festive season and look forward to working together in 2024.
With my very best wishes,

Christmas is a time for friends and families to gather together and create special memories, but for some local families, sadly this may be their last Christmas together.
While our services are free of charge, they are not free to provide, and that includes celebrating Christmas with all the trimmings that many of us are familiar with. ?
This year, Christmas day alone will cost £12,235.
Please donate now to make this Christmas special for local people who may be facing their last.
Whatever gift you can afford to give, no matter the size, will be invaluable to those spending Christmas in the hospice with their loved ones. Please help to make it a Christmas they treasure.
